We were thrilled to welcome over 200 visitors for the Open Doors weekend at Abercamlais last month.

The annual event is organised by Cadw and is part of Wales’ contribution to the European Heritage Days initiative. Open Doors runs for the whole month of September, with hundreds of Wales’ historic houses and sites offering free entry to the public.

The weather was sunny, and the rain held off while visitors joined the hourly tours of the house, strolled around the gardens, browsed our shop and took delicious refreshments on the lawn.

People travelled from far and wide, with some coming up from Cardiff and from the local area too. It was wonderful to meet and chat with them, and to talk about the history of Abercamlais and the people that have lived here through the ages. The weekend was a great success!
